OfficeLine 3.0 supports recurring transactions within the framework of a common mechanism for processing transactions of all types. The entries of recurring transactions are maintained in the table of received messages, together with received messages of other types.
In addition, OfficeLine 3.5 includes a special table for the administration of recurring transactions and so presents new possibilities for all categories of clients.
The tool for administration of recurring transactions enables one to earmark a group of recurring transactions and work with them independently of the others, and offers a high degree of versatility in its use. The basic capabilities are summarized below.
Statement of recurring transactions as a client-support toolThis tool simplifies the generation of summaries of recurring transactions (for example, recurring payment orders or encashment approvals). Recurring transactions can be included in the summaries according to a filter (for example, only recurring payment orders).
On a summary, the offer of operations with recurring transactions can involve:
A summary of recurring transactions may generally be offered through any OfficeLine distribution channel. Only the method of presentation of the summary of recurring transactions and their accessible operations depend on the capabilities of the distribution channels (on their user interfaces). For example, in the case of Internet Banking the offer of accessible operations may be included directly in the summary of transactions: By pressing the appropriate button, the client then chooses at the same time a transaction and desired operation.
Summary of recurring transactions as a client-support toolThe summary of recurring transactions is accessible even on the side of the OfficeLine server, including access through work stations. The operator can thus easily check the summary in the event it is necessary to respond to a query and so on.
Processing recurring transactions for another system If a banking system does not provide summaries of recurring transactions, OfficeLine can supply them in the following sense: OfficeLine can be used as a link in the system which provides summaries of recurring transactions as output for any other system.
Transfer of excess balanceOne of the functions offered by the tool for administration of recurring transactions is the generation of one-time instructions (on the basis of a common recurring transaction) for the banking system. A typical area of use of this function is the automatic transfer of an excess balance: The client enters a higher balance limit for his/her account and selects an account to which any excess balance is to be transferred. On the basis of this entry (transformed into a recurring transaction) OfficeLine then generates for the banking system a one-time instruction to transfer the balance (payment order). This solution makes it possible to offer clients a service of periodically executed payments even in the case that the service is not (directly) supported by the banking system, or in the case that it's implementation in the banking system would be too demanding.
