OfficeLine Token Unlock is a tool that makes the process of putting blocked tokens back into operation considerably faster and easier. If a token is blocked due to repeatedly entering a wrong PIN, it cannot be used any longer and the client has to submit it to the owner who will usually re-initialize the token. The re-initialization procedure is rather time-consuming and organizationally complicated, as it requires distributing and updating secret data in the database of OfficeLine or another system and often even sending the token to a service center.
Thanks to OfficeLine Token Unlock, the process of token re-initialization can be completely abandoned and replaced with a more effective unlocking method. Consequently, OfficeLine Token Unlock brings the following advantages and improvements in the token management:
  Reduced costs of token management,

  Improved services offered to clients,

Faster unlocking of a blocked token,

No update of the secret data needed.

Principle of OfficeLine Token Unlock Module Operation

The token unlock service is principally based on the Challenge / Response mechanism. A blocked token can generate a special code that allows compiling the unlock code provided that the token initialization data are available. The unlock code is entered into the token, and if it conforms, the token will unlock automatically.
OfficeLine Token Unlock performs the calculation of the token unlock code. In addition to the prompt displayed by the token, the input data are the token serial number and the token initialization data that are stored in the OfficeLine database. An operator will enter the prompt and the serial number manually; the module will automatically read the initialization data.

Security

Before the token is unlocked, the identity of the token user must be verified. If there is another independent authentication mechanism available besides the token (digital signature, single-use code for unlocking, etc.), the token can be unlocked remotely so that the client does not have to come to the owner's premises in person.
