OfficeLine Archiving Server allows building a database server dedicated to archived data. This server highly extends the possibilities of archive database administration and allows providing access to data, stored at the operator, to clients.
The archiving server offers the OfficeLine operator and client the same data manipulation tools as those available for the current database.
Integration with Other Modules
Especially advantageous is its combination with OfficeLine WWW. When the OfficeLine Archiving Server and OfficeLine WWW modules are implemented, clients can be offered the possibility to review their transaction history with a practically unlimited length through web pages. The properties of the two modules also allow for comfortably searching and filtering transactions using advanced tools.

Principle of OfficeLine Archiving Server Module Operation

The archiving server is based on the same database core as the one used by OfficeLine to administer current data.
The archiving server is connected through TCP/IP to an OfficeLine server that moves archived data to it. Archiving at the archiving server may be combined with local archiving: In this case, data saved into main database of the archiving server are moved to the local archive database after the pre-set age is reached.
One of the advantages of the archiving server is the fact that searching in the archive database does not consume the system resources of the production server.
Data stored at the archiving server may be displayed separately or in one table together with the current data:
 at the OfficeLine server;

 at a workstation connected to the OfficeLine server;

 at a workstation connected to the archiving server.
